"With
so many Italian meals under his huge belt, the Phantom
isn't easily impressed, but he certainly was with
Boca.
Creativity rules the menu. Phantom advises skipping
the standards found elsewhere and going for dishes
like the Grilled Veal Sirloin with portabella mushroom
and Chianti reduction. Grilled Lamb Chops are topped
with a rich sauce and accompanied by the signature
creamy mashed potatoes. Beyond grilled meats, the
pasta dishes are all uniformly excellent. The spiciness
of the Lobster and Shrimp Fra Diavlo sauce doesn’t
mask the freshness of the ingredients, making the
dish taste as good as it looks." - Phantom

"Featuring
a menu that travels the world with American standards
mixed in among Asian, Italian, Spanish and Caribbean
influenced dishes, Boca in Pembroke, Massachusetts
offers a fine dining experience from a small whimsically
decorated casual space.
We begin with the "grown up" grilled cheese
sandwich. From its rustic bread base to a three cheese,
pancetta and tomato filling, this adult take on a
kid's favorite left us wanting more [... ]The au poivre
filet mignon, however, was fork tender and succulent
- topped with a cognac demiglace and sided by a large
mound of chive mashed potatoes, this was meat and
spuds at its upscale best. The roasted free range
chicken breast took on a delightful Asian flare with
its five-spice rub but the accompanying Thai spiced
rice noodles had a peculiar fishy flavor. On to a
couple sweet endings. The strawberry and blueberry
shortcake with dollops of fresh whipped cream looked
and tasted like summer. A rich turtle tart - gooey
caramel and nuts in a round chocolate cookie crust
- was in a word sinful…and wicked good... For
its diverse menu, excellent fare, generous portions,
gracious service and laid-back atmosphere, Boca will
earn the Gold Plate." NECN/TV

OCT '09 - BoCa Hi, Last night was my first visit to BoCa, but it won't be my last. It was
my mother's 87th birthday and I had planned to take her to a different
restaurant, but it happened to be closed on Mondays, so I went online
and found BoCa. We were both extremely happy with the choice. The
dinner was excellent, or even superior, from the first salad to the
dessert. The very pleasant and efficient waitress, caring for the
whole room did a fabulous job. I'll definitely be coming back. Thanks
for the great menu choices, the incredible preparation of each meal
and the friendly service.
You are a boon to Pembroke.
BoCa is a great local restaurant for those of us on the
South Shore. Let's face it, there aren't too many
great places to eat anywhere so we can consider ourselves
lucky that we have BoCa nearby.
The food and overall dining experience is always great.
The food is very good and the portions are quite large.
BoCa is always busy, and the staff is very friendly.
Highly recommend this to anyone from the area or anyone
just driving through!
You won't be disappointed.
"Please
find BoCa in Pembroke and have a great meal! It's
right off Rte. 3 (exit 12) and you probably drive
by and never see it... I've been going for years and
haven't been disappointed yet in the food or service.
I love all the appetizers (enjoy having dinner at
the bar-and there aren't many places you feel comfortable
doing that alone) and have tried the pastas, steaks,
chicken, fish, ALL delicious and different. The menu
has something for everyone and is frequently updated
with new flavors and seasonal ingredients so you won't
get bored. Oysters on the half-shell are fresh
and yummy, beef carpaccio with grilled bread is my
favorite anywhere... I love it!" - Sharon

"Hidden
in a strip plaza, you'd never in a million years guess
that this place has some of the best entrees on the
South Shore. Cute bar and dining area, but
the real reason to go is the food. Fantastic fish
and non-fish specials. My favorites include the specials
which frequently feature oysters on the half shell,
king alaska crab legs, swordfish, etc. and on the
regular menu the eggplant parmagiana and the sweet
potatoes that you can get with any entree. yummy!"

"After
our teeny tiny wedding (7 people!), we decided to
have our celebratory dinner here. From the outside,
it really is a bit misleading. As other have mentioned,
it's located in a little strip mall (with South Shore
Diamond Exchange and my fave bagel place, Gunther
Tootie's *yum!*) on Rt. 139. But once you
walk inside, there's this warm, bistro-type ambience
that I love. Cute bar area, and welcoming
dining area. Then there's the food.- Yum.
Perfectly cooked *amazing* swordfish, served with
grilled mashed slightly maple flavored sweet potatoes;
rich four-cheese baked "mac and cheese"
w/pancetta and tomato; delish pan seared blackened
salmon w/lemon snizzle. Oh man, and their amazingly
creamy, moan-inducing lobster bisque. Everything I've
ever ordered here (and every bite I've been able to
sneak off of my husband's plate to sample *hehe*)
has been totally delicious. And how could I have almost
forgotten to mention the yum yum yummy baba ganoush?
(Ok, had a table of 7 people, and as we kept shoveling
the deliciousness into our traps with the basket of
a variety of warm breads, the consensus was that it
was indeed baba ganoush, but it could have been some
sort of dip. Don't know my Middle Eastern fare that
well!) Overall, really delicious, satisfying
food at very competitive prices, AND it's
in Pembroke. I love this place." - Amy C., Marshfield,
MA
"We
had the pleasure of eating at Boca around Christmastime.
The food was good-I had the swordfish, which was awesome!
The calamari appetizer was great, and our family loved
the oysters (even though I myself can't bring myself
to eat the darn things). The ambience was nice; the
waitstaff and bartenders were very friendly and attentive.
It was a quaint restaurant in a strip mall type place--I
had driven by it before but never thought anything
of it.
It's definitely a place to try in the South
Shore."- Amanda S., Braintree, MA
"This
is probably the best restaurant on the South Shore.
Even though chicken parm is not super difficult, they
easily make the best dish of it on earth. The fish
is always a good bet too, especially with mashed sweet
potatoes." - Stacy F., Orange, MA
"My
favorite standby, BoCa has never disappointed in many
years. The food is fabulous, the chef keeps
the menu exciting with new flavors and specials, the
service is friendly and the prices are great for the
taste, quality and portion sizes (especially compared
to other South Shore restaurants that define themselves
as upscale). Best of all, you can get meals for takeout,
just call ahead. I heard they have new healthy packaged
meals prepared onsite, which sounds like a great idea
for taking to work or to bring home after a long day.
Overall, the food is consistently exceptional and
I find the restaurant one of the most comfortable
places to visit on the South Shore (you are not rushed
out the door, you can relax and enjoy great food and
company)" - 'FoodOfLuv', South Shore, MA
"love
it: one of the best restaurants in the area. Food
is exceptional. In a casual atmosphere,
with low prices, you cant find anything to match."
- Jan B.
"Who
says you have to schlep into the city to enjoy modern
cuisine? At Boca the menu reads like a trendy Boston
hot spot. The menu is Italian, offering
standards in addition to dishes like spinach salad
with English stilton cheese; smoked salmon with
lemon mayonnaise, capers and red onion; lobster
and shrimp fra diavlo; veal sirloin with portobello
mushroom Chianti reduction; and grilled lamb chops.
Desserts include chocolate torte and chocolate caramel
pecan torte. The dining room is hip, with sponge-
painted walls and contemporary art." -- K.F.

"My
favorite for both lunch and dinner. Boca's
offers very fresh, cooked to order dishes. I love
going for lunch, the specials are great and the
price is beyond right. You can have a lunch that
will fill you for the day. I am also very picky
about my burgers, they have to be RARE and rare
they are always - cooked to order - very hard to
find a burger that is cooked the way you want. The
breads are to very very good, and the seafood dishes,
especially when they offer the seafood specials
at lunch - they are a most! A small resturant
with a big vote from me!!!!" - 'King/Queen'
"this
is our favor restaurant. we go lunch once every
two weeks. 40 miles thru town's traffic.
Shrimp & lobster cakes terrific. shrimp dishes
great. My favorite flank steak sandwich. sweet potatoes
& escalloped potatoes a measl in it self-service
great-super clean-a MUST" - larry trevor
"When
I first heard about BoCa I thought it would just
be one of those restaurants that are good in the
beginning but go down hill after that, but I have
never had a bad meal there. The best part about
it is that if you go for lunch, you get the same
fantastic meal for half the price. I always
go with something in mind, but the minute I hear
the specials, I have to try one of them. My
husband was skeptical about going in the first time
because of it being in a strip mall, but once you
eat there, you forget all about the location. It's
too bad thought that it never suceeded in Plymouth.
I think they tried to give it a different feel and
it just never worked. Thank goodness things haven't
changed in Marshfield. Can't wait to get back there."
